Spooky & Simple

IMG_3606

These spooky & simple gift sets were so easy to put together.

Using the Big Shot & the Matchbox Bigz XL Die – I created these little Hershey's Nuggets holders (they each hold 4 nuggets by the way).  After the matchboxes were complete, I whipped up a simple matching card.

Spooky Stocking

Spooky Stocking

This spooky stocking idea came to me as I thought of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas.

My husband, son & I love this movie and enjoy watching Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King, discover Christmas for the first time.

This stocking is a Big Shot Bigz L Die.  The stocking measures 5-1/2" x 4-3/4".  The die measures 6" x 8-3/4".  Use it with paper, fabric, felt & more!  I have SO many ideas for this die – it makes the purchase very worthwhile to me.

Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die, Item #124098, $32.95

Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die - by Stampin' Up!

The accessories inside the stocking are also a Die.  Candy cane piece measures 3" x 1-3/8". Entire die measures 4-3/4" x 5-1/2".

I thought it would be fun to add some Christmas goodies to the spider-web embossed stocking.  Fun!  Don't you think?

CASE a Card

IMG_2460

Hi there!  Long time, no blogging …

I've been in a bit of stamping slump lately, so I decided to CASE (copy and share for everyone) a card I found online (created by Carrie Gaskin, the Artistic Avenger – love her work!).  When I get into a slump, I find that CASE'ing gets me back into the swing of things.

A good friend of mine recently went through a major surgery and I wanted to send some heartfelt wishes in the form of a handmade card.  This card fit the bill perfectly.

Lots of Love Letterpress Plates - by Stampin' Up! I am loving the way this turned out, gorgeous colors, fun layout and use of many different punches.  It may be hard to see, but I even used the Lots of Love letterpress plate on my Sahara Sand background.

So, what do you think?  Stamping this card inspired me to make a few more… I hope to share those with you very soon.

Minnie & Mickey Get “Punched”

Minnie

We'll be going to see Minnie & Mickey very soon!

I thought my Niece, Nephews and Son would enjoy some custom-made autograph books to capture signatures from all their favorite characters.  I thought back to the good old days, when we'd cover our books with paper bags.  I found this great tutorial to remind me how to create one and then coverted the idea into Crumb Cake cardstock.  Worked like a charm!!

Aren't they cute?  These Minnie's and Mickey's were super easy to make using a few Stampin' Up! punches.

  • The body made from the 2 1/2" circle punch, same with the "pants" (I just punched 1/2 a circle).
  • The ears are made from the 1 1/4" circle punch.  I punched into the body using the 1 1/4" punch to custom fit the ears, I didn't want any overlap.
  • The pant buttons are made with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
  • For Minnie, I used the small heart punch to create a bow.
  • I used the Decorative Label Punch to frame "2011", which was simply printed on regular copy paper.

A skinny rubber band wrapped around the notebook secures a pen.  It fit perfectly!  I was so excited.  I kept the notebooks simple for little hands (ages 2, 6, 7 & 10).

Mickey

The first time my son, Devlin went to Disney World, he was about 3 1/2.  Here he is – not so sure what to think of those big monsters!  I love the look on his face, he is such a character himself.

More Mommy, bragging photos… I can't believe he was so little!

Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, that is…

Yesterday, my first order from the new 2010 – 2011 Idea Book & Catalog arrived at my doorstep.  I quickly unpacked it all – oohing and aahing over all the new goodies.

The first item I had to try was the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It called my name the minute I laid eyes on it in the catalog.  It was my first "must have".

Poppy Thank You

You'll see that even on a bright color such as Poppy Parade, the embossing  makes an elegant impression.

Using the new Color Coach, I found a fun color combination of Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and So Saffron.  I substituted So Saffron with Daffodil Delight to make my sentiment pop.

Own the Big Shot?  Treat yourself to this embossing folder – for only $7.95, just imagine how many ways you could use it.

F is for Fancy Favor

F is for Fancy Favor

Last night Mr. Brown (UPS) delivered my very own Big Shot!

Big ShotI have been contemplating purchasing this die cut machine for months… and I finally went for it.

After seeing all of the awesome creations made using the Big Shot, I had to try it for myself.  So, last night I quickly opened it and made this Fancy Favor box.

Big Shot (item #113439, $99.95)
Fancy Favor Bigz Die (item #115965, $39.95)

Finished favor size:  3" x 2 – 1/4" x 3 1/2", Die size:  6" x 13 3/4"

You might be saying "wow, that is a LOT of money!"  But the way I think about it is – the Big Shot is going to help me create so many handmade gifts – it will pay for itself in no time.

Think of all the ways you could use this Fancy Favor Box…

  • Valentine's Day Treat Holders
  • Wedding Favors
  • Baby Shower Favors
  • Birthday Party Favors
  • Create a
    desk organizer using multiple boxes

TIP:  Use 12" x 12" paper when you use the Fancy Favor Bigz Die.

This project was done from start to finish in 15 minutes.  Fast, easy & pretty results!  Without the Big Shot, creating my own box would have taken at least twice as long.

LOVE it as a Mom … I'll take any time saver I can get.

BONUS #1:  Purchase the Big Shot, Fancy Favor Die, add $10.10 in other product and earn 3 FREE Sale-a-Bration goodies!

BONUS #2:  By purchasing $150.00 in product, you'll also qualify for Hostess Level 1 benefits!

Beads & Bling

Chic Boutique Set of 3

Ohh la la … look at what I won at Convention!

The Chic Boutique stamp set!!  I got pulled up to answer a question pertaining to the Sock Monkey stamp set and ended up winning this and I didn't even have to answer correctly.  LOL!

Chic Boutique
(item #113744, set of 7, $26.95)

Chic Boutique Stamp Set

I participated in the splitcoaststampers clean and simple (CAS) challenge #27.  The title of this challenge was "show off your bling!".

2 Way Glue PenYou may not be able to see clearly in my photos, but I used Stampin' Up!'s micro beads.  Using my 2 way glue pen I applied adhesive to certain areas of my black embossed images.

Micro BeadsI then poured a generous amount of micro beads over the glued areas and poof – instant bling!  Click to enlarge the images, hopefully you can see how much fun these little beads add to my simple cards (single cards shown in my card gallery).

Here's a peek of the inside of each card.  Black card bases are always a challenge, because it is hard to write inside (unless you use a white or metallic pen).  But I added a piece of Kraft using the Top Note die and sliced it in half.  Simple solution but fun result!

Happy Hope

Enjoy Today

Played around with Mojo Monday's sketch #94 last night.

My Mom is going through too much lately and I wanted to make her a bright and happy card.

You can follow a bit of her story by visiting these links:

Power of Pink
Enjoy the Show
Thank You from My Mom

Mojo94Sketch This card was created using a few new Stampin' Up! goodies, from the 2009 – 2010 Idea Book & Catalog

I started out with the Kaleidoscope designer series paper and used my DSP chart to help me figure out the coordinating colors.

Two different stamp sets were used – Hope Happens (which carried over from the last catalog) and Ribbon of Hope

This ribbon stamp is great because you can make it whatever color you want to support the cause that is important to you.  More importantly, it's only $7.95!!

I'm off now to enjoy the last day of the weekend.  Hope you are all having a great one and I'll be back tomorrow with more Kreations using my new goodies!!

Did you check out the Ribbon and DSP samplers yesterday?
