Lacy & Lovely for Pals Paper Arts

I took some time to play with Pals Paper Arts (PPA141 Challenge).  Using the stamp set Lacy & Lovely and the designer series paper Fan Fair, I came up with this design.

It’s quite different than what I’d normally create – however, that’s what a challenge is all about!  Below is the sketch used in this weeks challenge, designed by my fellow Pal Margaret Moody.

What do you think about my PPA entry?  I’d love to hear, please leave me a comment! You can do so by clicking the little “speech bubble” at the top of my post.

Googly Ghouls

“I always feel like somebody’s watching me” and yesterday it was the Googly Ghouls from Stampin’ Up!

Their googly little eyes seemed to follow my every move in my stampin’ room.  Aren’t they the cutest?  Nothing too scary about these characters, perfect for your trick-or-treaters.

I made a set of four 3″ x 3″ cards using the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Printed Kit, which includes:

  • 20 printed double-sided tags: 10 ea. of 2 designs
  • 10 glassine bags with die-cut edges: ea. 3″ x 5″ x 1-1/2″
  • 50 adhesive-backed googly eyes (ea. 5 mm)
  • 10 pieces Pumpkin Pie/Whisper White Baker’s Twine, ea. 8″ (color exclusive to this kit).

The cards all fit perfectly into the glassine bag (top photo).  This bag was showcased in Stampin’ Up!’s Demonstrator only monthly magazine, called Stampin’ Success.  My son & I both made a bag two days ago – it was quick, easy & fun!

P.S.  You WILL want to buy extra googly eyes because it is SO tempting to stick them on everything.  Item #127539, sheet of 50 for $2.50.

Convention Circus Cards

These 3″ x 3″ cards were created for my son, Devlin. Every time I attend the Annual Stampin’ Up! Convention, I make him a card for every day I am gone.

Using the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper and Crumb Cake card stock, these fun little cards came to life.

I plan to go to a party store and get some circus/carnival supplies to go with the cards (fun tickets, toys and prizes).  Devlin can do a few chores to help Daddy while I’m gone to earn tickets.  Then come Friday, he can cash in his tickets for fun toys & prizes.  Sounds like fun to me!

World Spectacular DSP – Item #126897, $10.95

12 sheets: 2 ea. of 6 double-sided designs. 12″ x 12″. Acid- and lignin- free. Coordinates with the World Spectacular Suite. Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, Whisper White.

Check out the cards I created for Devlin for past Convention’s.

Hand-Penned Holidays

Merry Christmas

My husband asked me to make a Christmas card for the local barber.

I haven't stamped in so long – at least not on a regular basis.  So, four other cards before this went into the trash bin.  It's hard to get back into the swing of things, but I always seem to find my way back to my "mojo". I think this card will do nicely with a little gift for the barber tucked inside.

Hand-Penned Holidays has been calling my name for weeks now.  I love the exaggerated font!

Pines & Poinsettias created the perfect finishing touch – Stampin' Write Markers helped me create a multi-colored image.  So easy & fun!

Angry Birds for an 8 Year Old

Angry Bird

My son, Devlin turned 8 years old yesterday, making it his golden birthday (8 on Nov. 8)

We had a fun party for his friends last Sunday at the YMCA – the kids went swimming, jumped in a bouncy house, and partied in the party room.  A good time was had by all.  Especially by my Angry Birds fan.

I CASE'd the card by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Maria Cameron.  My bird is slightly off scale (LOL)… but I kind of like how HUGE he is, it gives him character and he's sure to get some pigs at that size!

For my card, I used Stampin' Up!'s Recordable Stampin' Sound Cards.  I found a clip of "The Bird is the Word" sung by Peter on the Family Guy and recorded 10 seconds of the audio onto my card. Devlin LOVED it and pressed the play button for most of the afternoon.  The option to record was a great way to personalize my card.

Inside of Card

I punched a hole in my Garden Green polka dotted DSP and popped up the Wish Big sentiment on Stampin' Dimensionals.  This way the audio comes through loud & clear.  The holes are beneath the round orange circle, with a bit of a gap provided by the Dimensionals. I also covered my record button to prevent the temptation to record over the current audio.

Spooky & Simple

These spooky & simple gift sets were so easy to put together.

Using the Big Shot & the Matchbox Bigz XL Die – I created these little Hershey's Nuggets holders (they each hold 4 nuggets by the way).  After the matchboxes were complete, I whipped up a simple matching card.

Spooky Bingo Bits really gives you the most bang for your buck.  I have used it on multiple Halloween projects so far this year – with many more ideas to come before October 31 rolls around.  See my other Spooky Bingo Bits projects by clicking here.

For $27.95 (clear mount), you get 24 different spooky stamp images.  That's only $1.16 per stamp!  Check out this card idea provided by Stampin' Up! using Spooky Bingo Bits.  So cute!!
